The importance of rationalism in business

The only secret in entrepreneurship is that there are no secrets. The driving force behind every business is based on common sense, experience, the exchange of ideas and the will to go that extra mile. Of course, all these cannot stand alone without the presence of clear objectives, careful planning and most importantly self-awareness. Self-awareness is the hardest of all, because sometimes it requires overcoming the trickiest of our competitors, which is our Ego.

The main disadvantage of the Greek business market is not only the current state and all those who whine about for the poor business climate. The big drawback is the large proportion of entrepreneurs that should not even be entrepreneurs at the first place. Of course, a great responsibility falls to the complete lack of education and infrastructure that would help greatly in creating a healthier business landscape. But in most cases, real problems start with the wannabe entrepreneurs that have no idea at all or they have a false idea of what a business is.

The aim [of these posts] is to enable the simple logic that will lead each and every one separately to make his own rational decisions based on self-awareness. There are no gurus – as they call them – to unveil the secrets that lead to success and there is no one to say “do this or do that and you will surely achieve success”.

Always keep in mind that every person is a unique entity and therefore has unique abilities that only the person who has them can develop them. Copying practices that have been implemented by others, never lead to success for the simple reason that they have to do with the unique features of another unique human entity. What is important when we check on third parties practices is to find out the backstage activities that made someone to explore and establish a new business approach and to use them as an example in order to establish our very own and unique business approach.
